Director – Corporate Services
Reports to Head of Corporate Services, UK
Our client provides a range of services in line with its core business. The purpose of this position is to
work with the team to deliver and proactively develop the corporate services customer proposition in a
manner that is aligned to the their brand values and strategic business goals.
The candidate will be a key member of the UK Corporate Services team and will work closely with the
Head of Corporate Services, UK to achieve strategic and financial success; helping to drive performance
and managing the associated challenges of a dynamic and fast-growing business.
The individual will play an important role in helping the business to deliver excellent client service and
meet its real potential. As a director of client service teams, the individual will be required to manage
client relationships through effective leadership in order to deliver a superior standard of service in the
market place.
In supporting a planned growth strategy, the individual will be expected to have an active awareness of
and involvement in the business development strategy for Corporate Services. They will be instrumental
in developing the teams and mentoring individuals within those teams, and in the ongoing development
of Corporate Services systems and processes.
Key responsibilities:
Through active participation in Our client Group’s UK Corporate Services team, support the delivery of
the
corporate strategy by focussing on:
+ Client Management: Ensure effective management of our existing UK Corporate Services clients to
deliver a high level of client satisfaction;
+ Team Management: Focus on the ongoing development and growth of individuals within the UK team,
ensuring appropriate exposure to challenging work and experiences within a supportive environment, in
order to ensure a robust succession plan across the whole team;
+ Team Leadership: Act as an ambassador for the UK Corporate Services team across the their Group,
deputising for the Head of Corporate Services, UK at Product and Group level as and when required;
+ Product Delivery: Improve the way we deliver corporate services. Ensure the product is scalable and
delivered efficiently. Drive internal efficiencies and optimise resourcing, ensuring relevant staff are fully
up to speed and engaged on the corporate services strategy and delivery;
+ Product Development: Actively participate in the development of our Corporate Services proposition to
maintain our leader status in the market. Work with the UK team to develop value adding enhancements
with a focus on creating new income opportunities;
+ Business Development: Support the business development programme working closely with the
Business Development and Marketing teams to win new business mandates from both existing and new
clients;
+ Financials and strategic KPIs: Agree and regularly review financial and strategic KPI data for UK
Corporate Services, providing insight for the team on where to focus and how to improve.
Core Director Responsibilities:
Business Development
+ Work in conjunction with the central business development team and Head of Corporate Services, UK to
develop and execute a business development strategy that fits in with the strategic aims of the Group and
grows the UK business through locally developed leads as well as cross selling to existing Group clients
+ Lead and/or participate in new client proposals and pitches as necessary and manage the integration of
new clients into the Group’s procedures
+ Mentor, support and, where appropriate, work alongside those with operational responsibility for
alternative offerings in the UK, such as fund and depositary services in order to execute the business
development strategy for those products
Relationship Management
+ Work closely with other relationship managers across the Group to strengthen relationships with pre-
existing clients
+ Maintain and build client relationships and act as a higher authority client contact in the event of any
issues within the client teams
+ Develop and enhance long-term relationships with clients, their advisors, intermediaries and other
introducers of work
+ Participate in client fee negotiations and regular reviews of existing client relationships to ensure client
satisfaction, proactively identifying and securing new service opportunities and taking appropriate action
for any substandard service provision
Operational Responsibility
+ Develop, direct and monitor the implementation of strategic business plans and recommendations to
enhance financial performance and new business opportunities, ensuring such growth is managed and
sustained
+ Support the development of the Group’s vision and strategy for our corporate services offering in the
UK; support tactical initiatives to achieve the mission and growth plan and provide leadership in its
implementation
+ Present regular reports on the business to the Board and any relevant Committees
+ Work closely with support teams to ensure systems and operations are developed to support the
corporate services strategy, acting as an active sponsor where required and deploying resources on key
initiatives to ensure success
+ Contribute towards the business as a whole, for instance, in identifying improvements in policies and
procedures that apply across the business and ensuring appropriate information and best practice is
shared between designated client services teams
+ Act as highest authority on day to day queries and as a 4-eyes signatory on service delivery, ensuring
company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality
service is provided to clients and outside contacts
+ Represent the Group and its interests in local industry matters
Performance Management
+ Manage the requirements for a team/number of teams ensuring reporting deadlines are met, with
oversight on planning, scheduling, and monitoring of workloads
+ Actively manage the performance and development of all direct reports, including acting as a mentor to
senior members of staff
+ Ensure all members of staff receive appropriate training and development in order to nurture their
potential and progress as individuals within the business
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
+ Considerable practical business experience in the Financial Services sector with a focus on corporate
services
+ A strong relevant professional network in the UK
+ Sound technical professional services knowledge (to be supported through the their Academy)
+ Computer literacy and word processing skills are essential, including advanced proficiency in
accounting tools, such as Microsoft Excel
+ Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues,
clients and business contacts
+ Strong demonstrable experience in the day to day supervision of a team(s)
+ Evidence of full responsibility for major client relationship(s)
