Title: Finance Director

Job Summary:

The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of a trust company in the Isle of Man. This includes developing and implementing financial strategies, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage financial risks, such as credit risk, market risk, and liquidity risk, and ensure that appropriate controls are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as anti-money laundering and tax regulations.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors, bankers, and regulators.
  • Oversee the finance team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that ensure the company’s financial operations are efficient, effective, and compliant.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is typically required. A master’s degree in finance or business administration may be preferred.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as the Isle of Man’s Financial Services Act and the Isle of Man’s tax regime.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic advice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
