Financial Controller Role Summary:

To oversee, manage and effectively maintain financial reporting for external stakeholders, present financial reports to the Head of Group Finance, overseeing and manage the finance team within the “other” companies and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise, organise and maintain the preparation of month-end accounts and VAT returns for external companies

* Managing the audit process and liaising with external personnel – where applicable

* Assist with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts (IOM, UK, Dubai, BVI)

* Client account relationships – ability to communicate with clients and engage regularly to maintain client relationship.

* Oversee and manage company secretariat function for “other” and external clients

* Budgeting & forecasting

* Assisting the Head of Group Finance with projects as required

* Undertaking financial analysis and reporting

* Reviewing, ensuring and implementing robust financial systems and processes

* Managing, mentoring, and motivating the accounts team

Key Skills & Experience:

* Experience of management accounting principles and techniques

* Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices

* Solid IT skills, including proficiency in the relevant accounting packages (XERO, Quickbooks and SAGE skills)

* Strong Excel skills essential

* A strong understanding of tax codes and laws

* Experienced people manager and trainer

* Good planning and organisational skills

* Excellent written & verbal communication skills

* Ability to work highly accurately and at pace

* Manage own deadlines and workloads, as well as teams

Desirable Skills & Experience:

* Previous client accounting experience

* Proactive and keen to expand knowledge and take on new tasks

* Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities

* Previously worked within a team office environment

* Influencing and inter-personal skills

* Process review and methodology writing/re-modelling
