Reports to Director and Group Head of Compliance
Role Description
The FSA vetted position of Head of Compliance requires the post holder to take responsibility for overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements, including those relating to anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism for the business.
This role will report to the Board of Directors including the Head of Group Compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Promote the strong Compliance culture across the business;
* Maintain the Compliance framework including making recommendations for any amendments to policies and procedures;
* Complete periodic review of policies and procedures in line with current regulatory and legal requirements;
* Complete regulatory reporting requirements including Annual Regulatory Returns, AML/CFT Statistical Returns and Clients’ Assets Reports;
* Prepare and deliver regular formal reporting to the Board of Directors;
* Prepare and deliver ad-hoc reporting to the Board of Directors and wider business when relevant industry changes occur;
* Oversee the compliance department to include the ongoing monitoring programme;
* Advise on compliance and regulatory matters across the business;
* Provide training and mentorship to the compliance department;
* Coordinate the internal training programme across the business in respect of compliance and regulatory matters;
* Assist with internal audit of procedural controls across the wider group;
* Sit on the New Business Assessment committee;
* Provide guidance on potential new business due diligence;
* Assist the Head of Group Compliance with ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications and Skills
* Extensive Compliance experience with the Trust and Corporate Services industry;
* Extensive experience of AML/CFT, sanctions and regulatory compliance;
* Hold a relevant professional qualification in Legal, Compliance, AML or equivalent;
* Previous holder of FSA vetted position;
* Able to communicate effectively and confidently to all levels of management, staff, third parties, regulators and external auditors;
* Experience with yachting and eGaming clients desirable.
