The Role – Sales Development Manager

We are looking for a well-connected, experienced senior Sales professional who can expand our distribution networks utilising their established relationships with Banks and Securities Brokers in Japan.

This senior role will report directly to the Head of Sales in Japan/ and work closely with the Head of Sales and Head of Business Development in the Isle of Man.

Key areas of Responsibility

• Increase the number of bancassurance (and in due course the possibility of Type II distributors) distribution partners for the client to achieve meaningful incremental annual sales.

• Explore and develop the network of Japan Securities Brokers to increase sales opportunities of the client’s product

• Provide timely and quality reporting and analysis to the Global Sales & Marketing Director/Group CEO on pre-agreed deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong demonstrable experience at a senior level within bancassurance sales.

• Excellent relationship manager with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with Banks in Japan.

• Broad knowledge of the key business functions within an international Group.

• Excellent local market knowledge in marketing and distribution, in relation to distribution channels of investment products.

• Detailed understanding of regulatory and commercial environment in which the Company operates.

• Excellent English, written and verbal (TOEIC level 800-900).

• Demonstrable Financial services industry experience (Banking, Investment Management, Securities Broker, or Insurance).

• Ability to communicate and influence at Board and Senior Management level across an international organisation.

• Experience in communicating with Senior Managers at non-Japanese firms, in particular Japanese Banks and the JFSA.

• Management/Understand/Awareness of operational risk such as prevention of service disruption and BCP.

System Knowledge

• Competent in Microsoft applications, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
